Cello Group Class : Under construction
The class is for students with no experience of playing instruments. In 45 minute and 60 minute class, students will be taught the foundations of music notation, rhythm, ear-training and music theory by fun and interactive activities. Yamaha group class and Suzuki music group class are taught by different teaching methods. Two different age groups are provided in the studio- 3 to 4 years old and 5 to 6 years old.
In the group class, parental involvement for students under the age of 7 is strongly recommended. We encourage parents stay with your child(ren) in the lesson to participate the activities and record learning process ( Suzuki Music parents are required to stay with your child in the entire class).
Please encourage/ help your child(ren) to practice at home and complete theory/ writing homework. Younger students whose parents are actively involved normally improve quickly.
Students are expected to practice at home every day for the same length as lesson time (ideally), but at least 15-20 mins a day.
Students are expected to have all the materials including the assignment/ record book and music books at each lesson.
Suzuki Music students are required to listen to the CD(s) continuously and do the piece review while learning Suzuki Book.
Recital/ Concert Qualification:
Piece requirement: A specific piece from group class.
Performance requirement: All pieces should be prepared fluently by memory unless it is in an ensemble setting.
Students will have a recital / concert verification before recital/concert date. Students have to pass the requirement in order to perform well in recital/ concert.
